We will be performing an essential upgrade to the operating systems on our hypervisors to ensure optimal performance, stability, and security for your VPS and Cloud Server services. During this process, your server will experience a brief period of downtime while it is safely powered down, upgraded, and rebooted. In most cases, this downtime will be no longer than 5 minutes per server, though larger server specifications may require slightly more time to complete the process. Each server will only be powered down once. Work will be carried out between 7th January 2025 and 17th January 2025, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 GMT only.

Between Tuesday 3rd March 2300 and Wednesday 4th March 0300 (GMT) we've been notified that one of our datacentre providers is carrying out urgent maintenance on their core network which impacts a device where our services are directly connected. We have been told that routing engines within the device will be failed over twice during the maintenance window which will cause traffic to re-route. This work will therefore cause a short interruption of connectivity and increased latency and packet loss for several minutes while traffic is moved between redundant connections.
We will update this status page as soon as the work has been completed and we ask that customers consider services "At Risk" for the duration of the maintenance window. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this work.

Dear valued clients.
As part of our continued growth and service delivery improvement scheme, we have taken the move to process all domains under the uHostAfrica name with immediate effect. This means that all co.zw domains exisitng and new through us will no longer have the "Webnames" handle. As some might know i started the webnames.co.zw brand back in 2014 but a year later, the brand was no longer part of uHostAfrica and has since operated seperately. We still had an agreement with Webnames to process domains through them but i have taken the decision to internalise all processes to provide you our customers a service that is more reliable and personalised.
That being said, those with existing .co.zw domains will start to receive emails from Zispa notifiying them of updates to their domains. If you have not requested an update on the domain DNS details the only change will be the Handle as it will now show "uhostafrica". If there are incorrect details on your domain please contact support and will sort that out for you.
As always thank you for your continued support and business.
Kind regards,
Theo Magaya - Director uHostAfrica

Some of our clients will have their services upgraded on 8 June 2017, meaning their accounts will be moved to new server infrastructure to improve service delivery and speeds. This is pat of uHostAfrica's expansion program.
All your accounts (including emails, databases, web files and cPanel settings will be reconfigured to the new infrastructure and we expect this to be complete by 06.00hrs. During the above window, your account will be suspended, and our DNS system will begin directing traffic to the new servers allocated to your account.
ALL our hosting now uses SpamExperts and all emails will be redirected accordingly once the transfers complete. You will not lose any email.
While we upgrade your account any changes made to the databases will be lost. Although this is usually a small window of a few minutes, we recommend that any critical transactional website (e-commerce, forums, CRMs) are put into maintenance mode overnight to prevent loss of information.
For improved security mail will require that SSL/TLS is enabled for Incoming POP3 and outgoing SMTP connections. If this is disabled you won't be able to collect email on the new server. You can activate SSL/TLS security immediately to avoid disruption.
WHY THE UPGRADE?
Faster websites
We've upgraded all our web servers from Apache to LiteSpeed. LiteSpeed yields great performance increases over Apache, helping sites load more quickly whilst using fewer server resources. We've also removed lots of malicious sites. Together these changes have massively improved stability, uptime and security.
SpamExperts
We've also invested heavily in a more transparent and effective anti-spam solution for your email. The excellent SpamExperts (accessible via your cPanel) now runs in front of all servers and protects every one of your mailboxes - free of charge. Our anti-spam cluster routinely blocks over 1 million spam emails every day destined for our service. Nothing like a nice clean inbox!
NEW SERVER HIGHLIGHTS
RAM: 50% more + 50% faster than current servers
CPU: 33% more cores + 35% faster than current servers
Storage 300% more SSD Space + 25% faster than current servers
Free SpamExperts with our cPanel
